Description
James McDonald (1843-1915), a Scottish immigrant to the United States, played a pivotal role in the establishment of Standard Oil, assuming leadership as the Head of European Operations. His passing in Washington DC was followed by a posthumous journey delayed by the circumstances of war, culminating in his interment beside his spouse, Caroline, within Brompton Cemetery's mausoleum in 1920
